I love seeing every one of my clients! Their smiling faces brighten my day and when they are thrilled with the results they are seeing with their skin that is even better. Every now and then some of them, myself included, aren’t able to make it in for regular treatments. Don’t worry though, I’ve got you covered. As I’m sure you have all figured out by now I love SkinCeuticals products and exclusively use them with all my treatments. They make some terrific products for your at home regimen and when it comes to their masks, they are hands down the best! Here are all 4 of the masks they have to offer and why each of them can be a great addition for your at home skincare routine!
1) Clarifying Clay Mask – For Acne Prone Skin
Category: Acne/Oily/Combination Skin
Breakouts? No problem! The Clarifying Clay Mask is a purifying treatment to decongest pores and excess oil. This mask is non-drying and contains botanicals and minerals such as aloe and chamomile to help calm the skin along with the highest earth clays kaolin and bentonite. It’s a perfect mask for those with an oily and combination skin type! This mask can be used 1-2 times per week by applying a thin layer to your full face for 10-15 minutes and then rinsing with warm water and patting dry. Another way to use this mask is as a spot treatment (as often as desired) by applying a thin circular layer over any pimple you may have and sleeping in! It does wonders for any of you who are suffering from breakouts which have inflammation and can be painful. It is also a great way to keep your hands off your face and not pick any areas as the acne blemish will be covered before bed and not as noticeable!
2) Phyto Corrective Mask – Calming Face Mask For Blotchy Skin
Category: Rosacea/Sensitive/Combination
So long redness! The Phyto Corrective Mask is an intensive calming botanical face mask which rehydrates and soothes temporarily reactive skin. Combined with a unique blend of cucumber, thyme, and oil extracts this facial mask cools on contact, comforts skin sensitivity, and restores natural radiance and smoothness. It is great for those who suffer from Rosacea or who have redness left over from acne breakouts. If you are someone who works out often and is active and tends to find your skin becomes red/irritated, this mask is for you! The neat part about this mask is that it can be applied as a leave-on, rinsed-off, or used as an overnight treatment! I have many clients who apply the Phyto Corrective Mask in the morning before their moisturizer as an extra pep or a few nights out of the week (preferably off nights from any corrective products such as retinol) after cleansing their skin and applying a generous coat to a clean face, chest, or neck and sleeping in it. For those who would prefer to remove it, after 10-15 minutes rinse with cool water. Ideal use is about 2-3 times a week, but I find you can’t overboard with this mask!
3) Hydrating B5 Mask – Hydrating Gel Face Mask
Category: Dry/Combination
Say hello to hydration! The Hydrating B5 Mask is an intensely hydrating mask to help in replenishment of moisture levels. This mask contains a unique complex containing constituents of the skin’s natural moisturizing factors otherwise known for NMF. A fabulous treatment for those who are super dry and having trouble with hydration remaining in their skin. Key tip though is to always make sure you are drinking enough water! Hydrating B5 Mask contains high concentrations of hyaluronic acid which is a key ingredient for moisture levels. It contains 1,000 times its own weight in water (making it an effective moisturizer) and vitamin B5 to leave your skin feeling supple and smooth! It is a perfect fit for those who are looking for a hydration treatment option at home. This mask can be used 1-2 nights out of the week at home by applying a thin layer to the entire face after cleansing. Allow the Hydrating B5 Mask to penetrate for at least 10-15 minutes and then gently massage any remaining product into the face. This mask can also be used on other dry areas such as the neck, chest, hands, knees, elbows, and feet.
4) Biocellulose Restorative Mask
Category: All skin types!
For all my sheet mask lovers, this ones for you! The Biocellulose Restorative Mask is an awesome sheet mask for those looking for an extra pick me up and is a great treatment for post procedure such as after a chemical peel to help soothe the skin. This sterilized mask is highly efficient and supple! Have a special occasion coming up or you are just in need of a little extra glow/ TLC? This sheet mask is for you! It’s also great for those who travel often. The mask contains biocellulose fibers which are highly absorbent and impregnated with water to provide immediate skin relief to have your skin feeling extra fresh in no time. To apply this mask, tear open the pouch, remove the mask and unfold. Then remove the mask from the protective mesh layering and apply to the face for about 10-15 minutes. The Biocellulose Restorative Mask is a one time use mask and should be removed and discarded after using. This treatment can be used 1-2 nights out of the week. A pro tip for those who have facial rollers at home, is to use your rollers when this mask is on to help penetrate the ingredients even more!
So there you have it! Even if you are tied up and can’t make it in for an appointment, that doesn’t mean you have to stop treating yourself.
